I think stargazing in Spring is the best time of year to be outside at night. Seems to be far more enjoyable than other times of years. Two nights ago I took some photos with a shared ownership in a Saxon telescope which advertises a 1200mm focal length.
We used my old Canon 60D, originally designed in 2010, the battery was able to hang in there for a few photographs.
After my brother focused the mirrors, we took a few sample photos of various things available to us in the sky. First was Saturn. Exposure was not quite long enough to capture some moons with it.
We also got a duel star system north of the southern cross.
Last night we travelled to Dubbo to visit Dad and took some more photos. My moon photos were not quite as sharp as yesterday’s, but the moon was lower in the sky and possibly this was the reason or because we were shooting across, low angle, over the Dubbo city, it was still a bit red from rising.
