Travelling to Tasmania

Mitchell and I departed Mudgee on 12 May 2024 on our trip to Tasmania. The plan was to drive, camp, catch the Spirit of Tasmania all in his red Ford Mustang. Departing late from Mudgee after Mitchell had finished mopping his floor, we headed for Bathurst to visit the new Anaconda.

We purchased some nice camping meals primarily here. We headed for Tumut, which is not far from Wagga Wagga to camp the night. We camped by Jones Bridge Campground.

We then departed for Albury for breakfast and heading further onto Geelong along a very wide and busy highway. Boarding the Spirit of Tasmania, we explored and had a nice pizza for dinner while watching for the Aurora Australis which we still have not seen, despite all the activity recently.

Sleeping in a recliner arm chair, Mitchell says he didn’t sleep very well. Neither did I but I didn’t mind. I got up at 2am but still no Southern Lights visible.

We are off to Bluff toilets and showers in Devonport which I am told are free. From there we will likely head West along the coast. But haven’t fully decided yet.
