Today: 23.8km.
Today we wanted to visit the Louve but tickets were not possibly for at least a week.
We had to take our backpacks with us today because we were checking out. Packed up our things departed for another walk around Paris. This is why I wanted to take smaller backpacks to check out and not worry about suitcases.
We took a slightly different route this morning. We walked through a park which reminded me of a video game that I very much enjoy that is based in eastern Europe. I took a selfie in this park.
And it was forecast to rain again. But it was clearing up slightly. It was definitely raining when we first woke up and there was still puddles about.
I take a selfie with a dog walking itself by the Seine river.
Taking a dreaded tunnel we avoided yesterday passing by some cold campers.
We visit the Louve from the outside taking photos.
We have KFC for lunch. We both get the Original Colonel Veggie Burger. Was delicious. Forgot to take a photo again. So Ill post the ad below.
We then avoid some light rain my walking through expensive shopping areas and getting a cappuccino.
We then find a Pokémon card shop and decide to walk along the river again playing Pokemon Go until we arrive back at the Eiffel tower were we decide to go up before our train at 9pm to Brussels (other train left for the day).
Passing a few bridges, including the famous lock bridge.
Arriving back at Eiffel Tower. Mitchell wants to climb it.
I have an espresso and eclair while Mitchell queues in the wrong line to get tickets to the staircase.
I rush to join him in the elevator line as both parties need to be present for tickets before we abandon it for the staircase line as originally planned. We also had time constraints and elevator has a long queue.
I write the blog to this point in the queue to the stairs.
We climb, almost to the top of the Eiffel tower I hear it well before I realise what the noise is. There is incredible wind with a blanket of rain approaching. It starts hailing.
There is not much cover on the Eiffel tower. Everyone was flooding down the stairs while we kept climbing. This was the right decision as there was cover above in level 2, but not on the stairs themselves. I take some video, but don’t dare venture to where Mitchell stands.
Mitchell records his own video. His shows more bravery.
We depart the Eiffel Tower as our train departs at 9:25PM to Brussels and it is already 6:30PM by the time we are down the tower. Its a 5km walk to the train station.
We have FIVE GUYS for dinner. Wasn’t to bad.
We board our train for Brussels with an arrival time of 11PM I will report on our accommodation tomorrow. I write this on the train.
