Day 16. Travelling from Berlin to Prague and doing a ghost tour.

Today, we woke up and started packing, joking about old man things. We wanted to find breakfast and started walking to the train station, we were leaving Berlin from a different train station than what we arrived at. We could either walk for an hour and a half or catch the Metro and we decided on the Metro.

Making sure to activate our ticket on the stamp machine.

Our train left Berlin at 11:23am. We arrived with time to spare. We purchased a sandwich each from various shops before getting on our 4 hour train trip.

The trip was uneventful, other than goats on the track, but I very much enjoyed the scenery on the train. I have mentioned a certain computer game a few times in this blog series which is called DayZ and is based on the scenery in the Czech Republic area. The buildings, sheds, farm land, water towers, deer stands in paddocks, and buildings in small towns are identical to that in the game.

Passing abandoned castles on hill tops.
Passing a city we must explore some time. Looked amazing from the train.

On arrival in Prague, we checked into our hotel. This was by far the cheapest accommodation we have stayed at and it was by far the nicest. We have a kitchenette, lovely bathroom, lounge, a kettle and coffee and tea selections, and our first fridge. This room cost us a total of $30/n each.

We had dinner after this and I remembered to take some photos.

We took a walk to the Charles Bridge and took a selfie.

Charles bridge, the place I most wished to visit.
Views from the bridge.
Selfie.

We then did a ghost tour which we booked the night before. I took us to the wrong location, a reminder to use google maps and not anything else in more remote locations.

This tour only had 6 participants and our tour guide took us to the main execution square, 1 of the 2 Protestant churches in the Czech Republic (due to an era of eradication of those terrible protestants), we then went to some underground areas below Prague decorated in ghost themes.

The floor in this basement was from the 1400s road. Over time the city has raised up.

Following this, we retired to our fancy apartment where I enjoyed a nice shower and write the blog in bed.
