Day 17. Walking around Prague, climbing hills, visiting the palace.

Today: 19.47km, 25,600 steps.

You’ll notice I forgot to start and stop this many times today.

After breaky, we departed for a hill climb. I liked the look of the hill on the other side of the river and I wanted to climb it.

We headed through Old Prague and the centre streets.

We crossed the main river, with Charles Bridge in the background. They used to tie people in baskets and drop them into the river if they were being a nuisance.

Then up the hill. Many foot paths were available to climb it. We had a coffee at the top.

At the top we climbed the tower up there. A view of the city and river.

Climbed the many steps.

After this, we searched for tickets to the palace. It wasn’t much of a palace now as the Czech Republic is a republic. We saw the guards.

We saw the cathedral.

And tombs of important saints.

We also saw more views of the city.

We got to admire Charles Bridge from another bridge.

We then had a coffee as we contemplated what we wished to do next. We admired my flag collection I had been collecting for my backpack of the countries we have thus far visited.

We took a long walk up the river, which can be seen on the map. I took photos of the buildings I like so much.

I also took a photo of a car I really liked.

From my favourite video game of course.

Walked through a total of 3 river islands which were made into parks. You can see these on the map. Took some photos of wild life.

We had a lovely dinner. Then a visit to last nights bar for a Pepsi and espresso.

After 19km, we decided we should call it a day. We are all booked and ready for our flight to Scotland.

To date, we still have not used taxis or Uber’s. Tomorrow may be our first at the airport is in a tricky location.
