Day 4. Plaza Mayor, The Royal Spanish Palace and Egyptian Temple

Stats: 19.3km walked, 26,100 steps

Today, we woke up deciding to do a walk around Madrid before our tour of the Royal Palace.

Started the day with a quick breakfast in Plaza Mayor with Americano coffee.

We then headed to a Egyptian Temple which was built in around 1st Century supervised by the Roman emperor Augustus or Tiberius. Gifted to Spain in 1972.

We then headed to a quick small lunch and off to the Palace tour.

The Spanish Royal Palace is the largest in Europe. The Spanish Royal Family does not live there anymore but it is used for important State functions such as a recent NATO dinner of heads of NATO.

Many areas had restrictions on photographs such as the Armoury afterwards.

After this, we did a further 7km walk around Madrid. We did go to the Museum but after seeing the line decided we had been there and done that, took a selfie.

This was now dinner time and we ended the day having walked a great distance.
