The End of the Dolomites

The End of the Dolomites

The Dolomites, this is the reason I flew all this way, crossing countless countries. I got to see everything I wanted, and I felt things I hope I never forget. I definitely plan on coming back one day! Next time, I’ll be better equipped and better trained, with new goals and new mountains I want to climb. It’s no joke out here. Sometimes I wonder how many people get injured, or worse. But honestly, that just makes me smile and say, “Challenge accepted.” We aren’t made of glass, after all.

The biggest challenge for me up there was mental. Just knowing that if you slip, you could actually die or maybe hang there for hours in your safety gear, with no one around. I could feel and hear my heartbeat way too often. But sometimes, something amazing happens when you’re so focused on surviving every other thought just disappears, and you’ve got a job to do. When it’s finally over and you’re safe, all those worries you had don’t really matter anymore. You just find yourself feeling grateful for what you have.
