Finally made it to the Dolomites!

Finally made it to the Dolomites!

Can’t believe I actually did it. I made it across the world, rented a car, and braved Italian drivers they’ve got their own style, let’s just say that. Fast, bold, and a little bit unhinged.

I drove myself all the way to the base of the Dolomites. The roads were winding and sharp, but honestly, it was kind of fun figuring it all out on my own. My travel buddy decided to stay back and explore the little town where we were staying totally fair call.

So I headed off solo. When I arrived, it wasn’t too busy easy to find a car park. As I took the gondola up, the weather turned fast. Cold and cloudy. I did a quick costume change in the gondola, and by the time I reached the top, I could barely see some times.

I stood there trying to decide if I should stick around or come back another day. Then it started raining. Most people ran for it, but I figured I’d come too far. So I grabbed a beer, found a spot to sit, and chilled while I thought about my plans.

About half an hour later, the clouds started to clear. The sun came out, and with hardly anyone left, I got to see the Dolomites in this unreal, peaceful way. I’d read it was always packed with tourists, maybe they checked the weather and stayed away.
